A smartphone an app is working to reduce the amount of time it takes for emergency services to get to crash victims.
Jaco Gerrits is the founder of CrashDetech and says that the app is in line with international road safety campaigns.
Gerrits explains that once the app is download to a user's device, it automatically detects when the user is involved in a vehicle crash.

He adds that the app supplies paramedics with the user's personal and medical information.
There's also a medical emergency button, roadside security, lawyer SOS and other value added services.

Gerrits explains that there are several different subscription options, with the cheapest fee starting at R49 and the most comprehensive at R199.
