Sassi's 'traffic light' system app enables consumers to find out quickly whether a fish species is sustainable or not.
The increasingly popular app is easy to use. SMS the name of the fish and you get back the status of the fish.
Green is the best choice - eat and enjoy. Orange means there are some conservation concerns, and of course, red means endangered, don't eat, don't buy!
The organisation's bi-annual survey is underway for the 4th time. it helps assess South African consumer awareness regarding seafood.
