Police arrest 12 suspects linked to London attack as ISIS claims responsibility

London police made 12 arrests in east London on Sunday in connection with an attack that claimed the lives of seven people on Saturday night, according to Reuters.

It's believed that four of the arrested suspects are women, reports UK Correspondent Gavin Grey.

Grey says police have also raided an apartment east London belonging to one of the three attackers shot dead at the scene.

48 others were injured when three assailants drove a van at pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in the nearby Borough Market area.

It's reported that eight London police officers shot dead the three attackers and brought the whole situation under control in nine minutes, firing 50 bullets.

According to Grey, police have been receiving thanks and respect from the public after the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the London attacks.
