John Maytham: Zille's 'I am right' attitude is a liability the DA can't afford

John Maytham says he has the utmost respect for the way Helen Zille has conducted her life - as a journalist, as a school governing member at Grove Primary, and her work as a politician.

She is a fantastic politician, she is clever, she cuts to the bone.

John Maytham, CapeTalk host

He says her hardcore approach to corruption and tender rigging is beyond reproach

But...

She is a liability to the party.

John Maytham, CapeTalk host

I think South Africa is best served by a strong DA. I would rather have the DA in power than the EFF. And those are for the moment, the only two realistic opposition alternatives.

John Maytham, CapeTalk host

Her insistence on being right...Helen Zille I am right...is damaging the party's chances of becoming that strong opposition.
