The Western Cape Government has urged residents to have the correct contact details on hand in case of an emergency.

There has already been substantial damage in parts of Cape Town due to the worst storm in 30 years.

For Cape Town residents, these are the numbers to save to your phone.

Emergencies (fire, traffic, law enforcement and ambulances):

Floods, fallen trees, rockfalls: 080 911 4357

Electricity **faults:** 0860 103 089 or SMS 31220

Water **faults:** 0860 103 089

Roads and stormwater: 0800 65 64 63

Traffic signal **faults:** 0800 65 64 63
