Meteorologist warns of wind and waves #CapeStorm

The City of Cape Town is on high alert as the storm sweeps through the City, bringing with it severe conditions and wave swell. The South African Weather Service has warned of this cold front, which comes with heavy rainfall, strong winds, and waves along the coastal areas of the Cape Peninsula.

The City has assured Capetonians that the Disaster Risk Management was on "high alert" and prepared to help citizens affected by the storm.

Radio 702 and Cape Talk host Eusebius Mckaiser spoke to meteorologist, Kate Turner from Cape Town weather services, who says these severe conditions will last throughout the day.

We are expecting severe conditions for most of the day. Not just from 11am to 3pm as has been making the rounds on social media.

The main feature of this intense weather is the wind and the waves. Not so much in terms of the rain.
