Four people were electrocuted in the Stellenbosch area earlier on Wednesday morning when power lines collapsed onto their home.

City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management has confirmed a man has died after his shack collapsed in Lavender Hill.

Western Cape authorities say eight deaths can be linked to the storm. This means an additional three deaths have been confirmed after the five confirmed earlier today

Earlier the City confirmed that two people have been injured in Lavender Hill after the roof of a house was blown off.

The City will continue to provide an update on the effects of the #CapeStorm
