Nokuphila Kumalo's killer, Zwelethu Mthethwa gets 18 years behind bars

Cape Town artist and convicted murderer Zwelethu Mthethwa has been sentenced to 18 years in jail for murder in the Western Cape High Court.

Kholi Buthelezi, National CO-FOUNDER, Sisonke National Movement of Sex Workers says she happy with the sentencing, saying justice is served.

Buthelezi adds however that 18 years is not enough for Mthethwa to spend behind bars.

The safety of sex workers is not prioritised.

Decriminalising sex work will bring change to the lives of sex workers and increase their safety.
