EWN Reportter, Kevin Brandt, is driving to Knysna where over 50 homes were razed to the ground by a devastating fire.

EWN reporter Kevin Brandt tells Xolani Gwala about rescue efforts late into Wednesday night after 26 runaway fires in Knysna forced residents to be evacuated. The devastating flood and fires have claimed at least 8 lives.

Information from authorities indicate that 8 000 to 10 000 residents have been evacuated from the Breton, Belvedere and Welbedacht areas. A bus service in George evacuated people to safer areas on Wednesday night.
