Gupta leaked emails are authentic - Malema

EFF leader Julius Malema says the party was privy to allegations of corrupt dealings between government officials and the Gupta family before the information was publicly released.

The party held a briefing in Johannesburg on Thursday afternoon.

Malema says they have reason to believe the emails are authentic.

Eyewitness News reporter Clement Manyathela was at the briefing.

Manyathela explains that the party has instructed their lawyers to urge President Jacob Zuma to withdraw his application to review the State of Capture report.

They are urging the President to bring it forward. He says if the President is not going to accede to their request they will be approaching the courts to request that that application be brought forward given the importance of the state of capture and the importance of that commission being established now.

In fact he was describing these emails as the self-destruction of the ANC.
