SABC board chairperson Khanyisile Kweyama says the board has accepted a finding to dismiss Motsoeneng for misconduct and breaking the terms of his employment contract.
Motsoeneng appeared before the disciplinary committee on Friday on charges of contravening the terms of his suspension after holding a press briefing in April.
In April, the former COO went against procedure and held a four-hour long press briefing where he defended his 90% local policy and criticised the parliamentary ad hoc committee on the SABC Board Inquiry.
Kweyama says Motsoeneng has been informed of his dismissal and stated that the 90% local music content had hurt the SABC financially.
She also announced that the SABC would cancel the contract that includes The New Age (TNA) Breakfast.
