WC Health's measles immunization campaign kicks off

The Western Cape Health Department will be running a measles immunization campaign from June 12 – 30.

The campaign will be aimed at all children less than 5-years-old, even if their immunizations are up to date. Spokesperson for the Western Cape Health Department, Jo-Anne Otto says different kinds of people need to be vaccinated so that when they are among a carrier, they can't be infected.

An illness needs to be eradicated for 10 years before we can safely say it is gone.
