The eighth South African Aids Conference is underway with researchers explaining their findings on major aspects of the disease and its treatment.
Eyewitness News reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo is at the event.
Ngcobo details some of the conversation that has taken place since Tuesday.
I have just come out of a session by the Soul City Institute....the main thing that has come out is that there needs to be more long term sustainable programs and research that is done, instead of a year on year assessment of the impact that certain programs have.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter
The way that the conference has been set up is that there are different sessions happening at the same time, whether it talks about HIV prevention and the law, sexual behavior... it is very research based and far removed from the politics.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter
