According to a survey recently released by Pharma Dynamics, almost 40% of South Africans are planning on taking fake sick leave in June or July.
Following the revelations of this survey CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies speaks to Verushka Reddy, labour lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright about employees rights when it comes to sick leave.
If you are absent from work for more than two consecutive days on the account of illness, your employer is entitled to ask for a certificate that states you were unable to work on those days due to illness.— Verushka Reddy, Labour Lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright
