Murder accused Sandile Mantsoe claims Karabo Mokoena committed suicide.

The married father is accused of killing Mokoena and burying her body in a shallow grave in Lyndhurst earlier this year.

Mantsoe painted himself as the victim, telling the Johannesburg Magistrates Court that she was jealous and abused him, reports EWN's Hitekani Magwedze.

Mantsoe's affidavit was read in court on Friday and it refutes the version of events given by the investigating officer in this case.

It paints him as a a victim and says when he was arrested, he was intimated by a female officer.

He says he was made to write his statement about three times over.

He refutes claims that he killed Karabo Mokoena and he refutes claims that he told police he didn't know where she was.

He paints Karabo Mokoena as a person who had problems and tried to commit suicide a number of times.

He says he tried to break up with Karabo Mokoena because of her temperamental behaviour.
