While more officials at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre could face suspensions for allowing scantily-dressed women to entertain inmates, CapeTalk and 702 callers insist it was inappropriate and exploitative.
It has been confirmed the women were entertaining prisoners as part of this year's Youth Day celebrations.
The explicit images show the women touching and undressing some of the inmates, and have been circulating on social media.
We supposed to start treating prisoners as prisoners, they don't deserve any form of entertainment. Right now I cannot even imagine women being exploited like that... they don't deserve anything.— Sisanda, 702 caller
That type of entertainment is inappropriate...if we are talking about restorative justice, people need to be treated as humanly as possible but bringing strippers on a family day is totally inappropriate.— Bongi, 702 caller
I wasn't disgusted by the naked woman. Every woman has the right to express themselves the way they wish to. What I do have a problem with is that we have women who are being used as entertainment to entice men who are criminals and anything could have happened. You are putting women in danger. It really doesn't get us anywhere in terms of trying to deal with the rape culture we have....— Omogolo, writer and producer
When people go to prison they are going there because they have done something wrong and need rehabilitation....— Hans, 702 caller
