The ANC kicked off it's 5th policy conference in Nasrec, Soweto, on Friday. ANC Secretary-General, Gwede Mantashe told Midday Report host, Stephen Grootes that no-one in the party has the monopoly on ideas and weaknesses on the ground and in the branches will be discussed. He said talks will be held with "people who have moved to the extremes."
We will apply our minds and talk about practical steps, we need to engage and try and unite people as we don't have the luxury of time as we are in a recession technically and we must do something different..— Gwede Mantashe, ANC Secretary General
