Ntshalintshali: Cosatu to finalise strike bid against state capture

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) says it is finalising plans to launch and secure a section 77 strike notice against the socio-economic effects of state capture.

Cosatu general secretary Bheki Ntshalintshali says the trade union federation is in the process of concluding the technicalities and terms of the strike.

We are finalising it by this week.. In the next two weeks we will be submitting section 77 [against] state capture.

Ntshalintshali says Cosatu's lawyers are working to apply for a section 77 protest notice which will be approved under the terms of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac).

Last week, Cosatu and Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) met to discuss collaborative ways to tackle state capture.
