Back in May the National Consumer Tribunal declared it illegal for the Edcon Group – the owner of Edgars, Jet and CNA - to charge its credit customers club fees.
That ruling wiped out more than R400 million that Edcon “earned” every year in club fee income.
Now the National Credit Regulator (NCR) has referred The Foschini Group (owner of Foschini, Markham, Exact and Donna Claire) to the National Consumer Tribunal for the same offense.
This follows action against Mr Price and Lewis for a similar transgression.
The Foschini Group will oppose the case.
