The recent rainfall in the Western Cape is not sufficient to raise the dam levels, and levels continue to drop even lower.
With the effect of Level 4B water restrictions, construction company Calgro M3, announced that they will be cutting back on new developments in the province, in order to save more water.
Calgro CEO, Wikus Lategan, says they haven't been using municipal water for the past six months but had only used borehole water.
He says they sold about 1 750 units so far and have delayed construction of new units due to water shortage in the province.
At the moment the company is working on projects that don't require a lot of water usage as a way of protecting jobs of their employees, says Lategan.
