Find out which holiday destinations Mzansi Girl recommends you visit with family

Our trusted, go-to travel blogger, Meruschka Govender shared her recommended winter escapes ideal for a family vacation.

Top on Govender's list is Tiffindell Ski Resort, South Africa's only ski and snowboarding resort which is located in the Southern Drakensberg. For those wishing to get their passports stamped, Lesotho's Afriski Mountain Resort is your best bet.

Nature lovers seeking tranquility and some wildlife spotting can visit Golden Gates National Parks says Govender. The park is located just outside Clarens, in the Free State .

The Kruger National Park is also great in winter.

Meruschka Govender, Travel blogger and founder of Mzansi Girl.

Govender says you can go water rafting, zip sliding, caving by candle night and quad-biking in the Kruger.

To escape the winter cold in South Africa, Mauritius is the ideal tropical, island for you and your family to chase the sun in.
