South Africans Doing Great Things: Nokubonga Pearl Dlamini

Nokubonga Pearl Dlamini is an entrepreneur and innovator.

She is the COO and co-founder of the 2015 GAP Medical 1st place award, from the Innovation Hub, for the medical invention of the year that is Circumfort. Circumfort is an award winning medical invention geared to accelerate healing from a circumcision procedure.

The product, developed by Dlamini and her team has not only received attention from mainstream media but also gone to earn an endorsement from the department of science and technology and health.

Through research Dlamini and her team found that men who do not undergo circumcision for religious/traditional reasons, are afraid of circumcision, due to the pain associated with the 6 week healing process. Circumfort eradicates fear.

By creating a product that makes the healing process and painless and comfortable experience, we aim to encourage more men to get circumcised. This not only helps the men but their female partners as well.

Circumfort is a novel medical device that aids in the healing process of circumcision. Circumfort is specially designed to reduce the pain experienced during the post operational wound treatment of recovery.

Circumfort is made with Hygiene white foam bracing with grey-brush back end, Washable and adjustable elastic waist belt as well as disposable hygiene fluid absorbing gel pad. These materials are combined to make a product that functions to keep the penis in an upright position to aid in comfort and hygiene. Circumfort could be used in the public health, private health and pharmaceutical industries.
