SAP won't divulge who is conducting probe amid Gupta kickbacks claim

German software firm, SAP executive board member, Adaire Fox-Martin, said that four senior managers in South Africa have been put on leave.

This follows allegations that the software company paid R100 million in kickbacks to a Gupta linked company to secure contracts with Transnet.

SAP says it had begun a probe into these allegations and the results will be shared publicly.

We are very committed to get to the bottom of this issue we feel we owe it to our employees, partners, customers and the broader community in South Africa.

Adaire Fox-Martin, SAP Executive Board Member

EWN reporter, Stephen Grootes, says Fox-Martin refused to reveal who will be conducting the investigation, hoping it won't be KPMG as they are also implicated in the matter.

Initially SAP released a statement denying any involvement with the Gupta family.

Grootes says the manner in which Fox-Martin answered questions from journalists, immediately after the media briefing, left a lot to be desired.

If she was under oath in the court of law she would've been in big trouble.
