Extra building inspectors brought in to help rebuild Knysna

CapeTalk's Africa Melane (standing in for Kieno Kammies) speaks to the director for planning development at the Knysna municipality, Marlene Boyce, about the work they are doing in assisting victims of the #KnysnaFires.

According to Boyce, their office has been overwhelmed with residents needing access to their old building plans and those that need new plans to be approved to start rebuilding.

She says the council has made a decision to wave all building plans for anyone needing to start the rebuilding process irrespective of their level of need.

They have asked neighbouring municipalities for a helping hand to have building inspectors come and assist in this regard.
