Lend a helping hand beyond Mandela Day

South Africans volunteered 67 minutes of their time on Tuesday to offer a helping hand to those in need as part of the Mandela Day celebrations.

Managing director of the Amy Biehl Foundation, Kevin Chaplin, encourages South Africans to continue their efforts and do charity work beyond Mandela Day. He says South Africans should do this throughout the year, just one day is not enough.

Its about appealing to everybody that we are here for a bigger purpose.

Its about getting all South Africans mobilised to see the benefits, not just to the kids, but to themselves as well.

The Amy Biehl Foundation is a non-profit organisation. The foundation offers daily educating, developing and empowering of children from 5 - 25 year old’s who are living in the challenged and vulnerable communities of the the Western Cape.

They have over 2000 children that they take care of and invite South Africans to join them in taking care of the children.
