IDC calls farmers in SA's agro-processing industry to apply for funding

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is unlocking the economic potential of rising industrialists.

IDC is a national development finance institution committed to growing employment and South Africa's economy.

IDC's Lizeka Matshekga says that the objective of the IDC is to industrialise the country, create jobs and transform industrial sectors.

Matshekga says the IDC is primarily focused on supporting three core value chains:

  • agro-processing (horticulture, field crop, red meat and poultry, aquaculture and seafood products) and agriculture
  • metals and mining
  • chemicals

She says that the IDC is particularly committed to transforming the agro-processing sector.

It's about transformation. The agro-processing sector is still lagging behind. We want to see youth, we want to see black industrialists participating in the entire value chain. IDC is your partner in that.
