Sapu is demanding operators receive the same salary as warrant officers in the police service.

Sapu president Mpho Kwinika says police have the budget to bridge the pay discrepancies.

Police have been returning some money back to Treasury which could have been fruitfully utilised to address this debacle.

He says a work study is needed to investigate the salary discrepancies at 10 111 centres.

Meanwhile, police members of the flying squad have been brought in to man the 10111 as a contingency plan.
