Eskom's Interim CEO Johnny Dladla reported on the power utility results on Wednesday.
Eskom's accounts showed the utility incurred a R3 billion irregular expenditure bill and that it paid a Gupta-linked Trillian Group almost R500 million in consultancy fees.
Deputy Editor at Financial Mail Sikonathi Mantshantsha says that Eskom said it has no idea as to why, and for what, Trillian was paid that kind of money saying the matter is being investigated.

Mantshantsha says he believes in the new Eskom's CEO but the questions journalists threw at him on Wednesday proved that he only knew a fraction of what is really going on at the power utility.
