KwaZulu-Natal community activist Vanessa Burger related her findings into the political killings in KZN, and the Glebelands Hostel, in particular, to the Moerane Commission.
Burger made claims that police watchdog, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid), failed to arrest corrupt officials involved in the political killings.
Ipid spokesperson Moses Dlamini has lashed out at Burger for making "spurious allegations". He accused Burger of not even trying to contact their offices in KZN saying that she is not being honest about the functions of the Ipid's office.
EWN reporter, Ziyanda Ngcobo, says Burger has responded to Ipid saying she should not be expected to protect the integrity of the organisation but rather should be expected to tell the truth.
She says it was her constitutional mandate to tell the truth to the Moerane Commission.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter
