M&G makes link between Bathabile Dlamini and her newest appoinment, Pearl Bhengu

Pearl Bhengu was picked this week by Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini, as interim chief executive. This comes as former Sassa CEO, Thokozani Magwaza made a dramatic exit from the agency.

It has come to light that Bhengu and Dlamini's daughter, Skhumbuzo Mazibuko, are both directors in a company called Umnotho Wabafazi Biz.

Magwaza was due to testify against the Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini, in a public inquiry into her role in the Sassa payment scandal.

Magwaza has apparently been the subject of death threats, in connection with his work to end Sassa's contract with Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).

On Wednesday when the announcement was made, in light of how Magwaza left... it became apparent that there could be a conflict between the two parties.

The Minister didn't have a good relationship with Magwaza and wanted to replace him with someone who would do whatever she wanted done.
