How to protect eyes from the harmful screen lights

Optometrist and CEO of Dynamic Vision, Ruahan Naude, chats to 702's Phemelo Motene about how to protect eyes from the screen's blue lights - tablets, phones, computers etc.

Naude says the long hours spent staring at a screen in some shape or form could have harmful effect on our eyes.

The problem is our lifestyles has changed so we holding these devices a lot closer and at the same time we spending more time.

According to Naude an average person working is spending 11 hours of exposure to the harmful blue lights.

To avoid damaging your eyes, Naude recommends the use of glasses that have blue light filter on them.

These eye spectacles can be prescribed by an optometrist.

It's a specific lens which you'll need to have examination for, it is called blue light filter...
