Safety concerns at Newlands stadium

Peter called in on Breakfast with Kieno Kammies to outline some of the concerns with regards to safety at Newlands Stadium particularly during the test between the Stormers and the Chiefs this past weekend.

He says after the game, the found that the security gates were closed and the crowd had to exit via the turnstiles. This was a narrow and very slow exit.

Although no incident occurred there could have easily been a stampede.

The breakfast show has reached out to the Western Cape rugby management to outline their safety plan during a big games but no one was made available at the time of going to air.
