This Women’s Month, CapeTalk is bringing like-minded women together for a morning of inspiration and networking. Here’s what you can expect at this inaugural event:

MC: Bonnie Mbuli

Bonnie Mbuli

The host for the morning is none other than SA’s TV favorite, Bonnie Mbuli. More than just a household name, Bonnie started a career at an early age, and has gone to blaze trails as an inspiring role model, actress and TV personality - not to mention winning the hearts of people, nationwide.

SPEAKERS:

Jo-Ann Strauss

She’s one of South Africa’s most recognisabe faces. After winning the title of Miss South Africa, Jo-Ann has also carved out a successful career in TV and media and is a renowned master of ceremonies. She will be sharing her exciting journey with us.

Nicola Tyler

Expert in the field of Lateral Thinking, she has been a strategist and leadership development trainer for over 20 years. Be inspired and equipped as Nicola imparts valuable insights and advice.

Obenewa
Amponsah

Executive Director of the Harvard Centre for African Studies in South Africa, Obenewa Amponsah has also served as the CEO of the Steve Biko Foundation. Apart from her expansive experience in governance and development, Obenewa mentors young women and has served as an advisor to several non-profit initiatives. We’re very excited to hear Obenewa’s valuable and expert opinion.

Pippa Hudson

Philippa (Pippa) Hudson is the CapeTalk lunchtime host on weekdays from 13:00 – 15:00. After completing her Honours degree in English at the University of Witwatersrand, Pippa trained in radio news at Johannesburg’s ABC Ulwazi broadcasting school. Her on-air career started in 1998 as a news reporter at Classic FM, and a year later she moved to Cape Town to join a commercial radio station where she was later promoted first to News Editor and then to Station Manager in 2003.
“I have always considered these stations to be the premiere radio news suppliers in South Africa, and the opportunity to get back on the air and be part of this dynamic team was one I relished,” she says. “It is a privilege and an exciting new challenge for me to fulfil the role of lunchtime host.”
