ANC doesn't have the numbers to carry no confidence vote against Zille- reporter

The Western Cape Provincial Legislature will sit through a debate in a motion of no confidence in Premier Helen Zille on Thursday afternoon.

At the time of the interview EWN Reporter Lindsay Dentlinger said the debate and vote had not yet begun. She says legislature had been in session for over three hours.

In terms of the numbers, this whole exercise is futile. The ANC doesn't have the numbers to make this carry.

Lindsay Dentlinger, EWN reporter

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) have already indicated they are unlikely to support it reports Dentlinger. She adds that African National Congress (ANC) Western Cape leader who had been pushing for the vote and debate was absent.

The ANC benches are not even a full contingent, I think it is going to fall flat.
