Eerstewater: In search of the wellspring, showing at the Labia until 3 August

Eerstewater, is a documentary set in in the Great Karoo and is based on the book 'Beneath – Exploring' the Unconscious in Individuals, written by Hélène Smit and Pluto Panoussis, director of the Open Window Film School in Centurion.

Writer, Helene Smit says the film is a hybrid between a documentary and an art film. She adds that it is partially educational.

The film has a lot of music in it as well says Smit.

The characters tell their stories in their mother-tongue, Afrikaans, but the film is sub-titled in English.

Screenings:

Labia, Cape Town: 28 July, 30 July, 3 August (18:30)
