Gamers walk off with big prize purses at VS tournaments

VS Gaming COO Johann Von Backstom chats to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about the growing industry.

VS Gaming is the largest competitive e-sports company in the country and we've just come from a couple of very successful tournaments that we hosted up in Gauteng.

This included the Counter Strike Cup where the winners walked away with a prize pool of R110 000.

The winner of the tournament at Gallagher Estate the previous weekend walked away with a cool half a million.

The company decided to bring the finals to Cape Town and it takes place at the CTICC.

The guys will be competing here for a R550 000 prize pool.

He says the event will be a fantastic gaming festival with all things gaming related.

But also the top players in the country will be performing in the VS Masters team.

Anyone who wants to see the best competitive gaming in the country.

Electronic and Gaming Expo (EGE) ran from Friday 28 to Sunday to 30 July 2017 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
