In the latest recording from an interview with the BBC’s Radio Four, Atul Gupta continues to refute state capture allegations and blames monopoly capital for what he calls the smearing of his family name.

Gupta says he is a proud South African and wants to remain in South Africa forever.

I want to stay in South Africa forever. I love this country, I’m proudly South African and I respect all my fellow South Africans. I really am a live example of financial liberation and I’m playing my part.

He also denies ever meeting former deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and offering him a R600 million bribe.
