Manana sneaks into Randburg court

Deputy Minister for Higher Education Mduduzi Manana appeared in the Randburg magistrate court where it is believed he will be formally charged with the assault of Mandisa Duma at a night club in Fourways, Johannesburg on Sunday.

EWN reporter, Thando Kubheka says Manana was snuck in through the back entrance of the court premises. He was then taken into a secluded area by court officials.

It is not clear what's been discussed but he's been in a meeting with court officials for about an hour.

Since the incident happened on Sunday, civil society groups have been calling for Manana to be fired.

Kubheka says a group of women wearing T-shirts with the words, "Not in my Name" have been protesting outside court.
