ANC's reaction post motion of no confidence "absolutely shocking" - Verwoerd

Following the failed motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday, former ANC MP, Melanie Verwoerd says it is absolutely shocking that the ANC is trying to find MPs that voted with the opposition and punish them.

There were about 26 ANC MPs who voted with the opposition.

This shows the level of intimidation those MPs have to go through for believing there should be change.

Melanie Verwoerd, former ANC MP

Verwoerd says the ANC might open itself up to intense legal action for trying to single out MPs who voted with the opposition, particularly when their votes where in secret.

She also gave her views with regards to the December elective conference whether the motion of no confidence will have an impact the outcome of the conference in any way.

I think Zuma has been strengthened and his faction has been strengthened ... and this will certainly impact on the outcome of the December conference.
