Afriforum's Gerrie Nel gives the NPA three months to prosecute Grace Mugabe

Lobby group, AfriForum and its independent prosecution unit will be getting involved in the case of alleged assault of Gabriella Engels by Zimbabwe's First Lady Grace Mugabe.

EWN Reporter, Hitekani Magwedze was at the press briefing earlier on Thursday. Magwedze reports that Afriforum has given the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) three months to prosecute Mugabe.

All we know is that at some point a warrant of arrest was drawn after she failed to hand herself over.

He says a criminal case will be pursued against Mugabe adding that Engels was allegedly offered a settlement out of court which they declined.

Prof. Hennie Strydom, South African Research Chair in International Law says the diplomatic immunity is an old rule was instated to protect diplomatic missionaries operating in foreign to have some kind of protection against civil and criminal prosecutions.
