Clients dump Bell Pottinger amidst claims of unethical behaviour

A hearing by the British Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) into the conduct of the British PR company Bell Pottinger is underway.

Bell Pottinger has admitted to conducting a PR campaign on behalf of the Guptas that was found to be offensive. The company is accused of using issues around race to defend the Gupta family.

EWN UK Correspondent, Gavin Grey, says the hearing which is significant to the company's future, is being held behind closed doors.

It might take several days or even weeks before we find out the decision.

Gavin Grey, EWN UK correspondent

There are reports that Bell Pottinger has lost clients because they don't want to be associated with a company that is itself making the news.

Gavin Grey, EWN UK correspondent

There are other reports that some PR agencies believe that it is so bad for the industry they would rather see the firm voluntarily just disappear.
