The residents of Venice Beach in California are up in arms with the transformation brought to the town by Snap Inc., the company behind Snapchat.
The company rents and owns a number of office space in the American coastal suburb, where the company was first headquartered. But now these offices have taken over some of the entertainment spaces where the locals used to hang out.
Venice beach has blue collar working class roots but over the years has become a haven for many diverse lifestyles from surfers, skateboarders, to musicians and artists.
Ethan Lader, music video director, explains to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies how things used to be in Venice before Snapchat snapped up everything.
