A report was tabled by National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete on Friday, to investigate the former communications minister and current Public Service and Administration Minister Faith Muthambi.
She is accused of misleading the ad hoc committee of inquiry into the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)
EWN reporter Rahima Essop says the report has been sitting on Mbete's desk since June. She adds that misleading Parliament is a criminal offence and the report suggests that criminal charges be laid against those who are guilty of this.
The DA are putting pressure on National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete to lay criminal charges against these individuals, because according to the ad hoc committee's report, it is parliament itself that should open those criminal cases.— Rahima Essop, EWN reporter
