Home Affairs Minister Hlengiwe Mkhize, appeared before Parliament's Home Affairs committee where she was quizzed about the naturalisation of the Gupta family.

EWN Reporter Gaye Davis reports that Mkhize told the committee that she has not found any irregularities in terms of the family's application.

She says that their investor status was the biggest consideration that the documents she's had access to all talk about the Guptas investments.

Davis adds that divisions within the African National Congress (ANC) caucus became clear when some Members of Parliament said the minister should not face any further questions and rather wait until they presumably had their ducks in a row.

There was a definite push from ANC Members of Parliament who said, we should shelve this until later. While another ANC member who said we should do what we've been told to do.

Davis adds that now, they will wait to see if then Home Affairs Minister, Malusi Gigaba will appear before the committee on Friday.
