Measures in place to prevent the spread of bird flu

South Africa's poultry industry is under threat by bird flu.

SA Poultry Association Project Manager, Charlotte Nkuna, says the problem started on one farm but now there are a few provinces affected.

She says there are trying to control it from spreading from one farm to another but are still getting reports of new introductions in other places.

The numbers are still much lower compared to other countries during outbreaks.

We are taking a step back looking at how we do things and how we can do thing differently to stop the introduction of bird flu in other farms.
