The DA was just bullying and expect everyone to vote with them… we’re not used to that culture.— Bantu Holomisa
United Democratic Movement (UDM) President Bantu Holomisa says his party will pull out of the Nelson Mandela Bay coalition if ex deputy mayor Mongameli Bobani is not reinstated by Monday.
The coalition consists of the DA, the UDM, the ACDP, Cope and the Patriotic Alliance.
The coalition does not have a majority without the UDM.
Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip fired Bobani in May after a motion of no confidence tabled by the Patriotic Alliance passed with 60 votes from 119 councillors in attendance.
Clement Manyathela (in for The Midday Report’s Stephen Grootes) interviewed UDM President Bantu Holomisa.
