Cape Town City's transport plans explained: Plans to take over Golden Arrow

Mayco member Brett Herron outlines the steps the City is taking to streamline and improve Cape Towns integrated transport system.

He explains the rolling out of phase two of MyCiti and lessons learned from the first phase. Replacing the entire public transport system with MyCity is not financially sustainable.

We will work with the mini-bus taxi industries to provide much of the feeder network.

The City also plans to take over and manage the Golden Arrow contract, to rebrand and recapitalise that service.

The plan is to rebrand Golden Arrow buses with MyCiti.

The City has written to new transport minister to continue with the agreement that has been in the works.
