Sars mum on Vlok Symington disciplinary hearing

Sars says it will not comment on the matter involving Vlok Symington which has implicated Commissioner Tom Moyane in a criminal conspiracy.

An official in the legal counsel division has accused Moyane and Hawks officers of concealing evidence from the National Prosecuting Authority to have former finance minister Pravin Gordhan implicated in fraud.

Last year, Symington was allegedly held hostage by several Hawks officers and Moyane's personal bodyguard after they accidentally gave him an incriminating document.

Eyewitness News reporter Barry Bateman has more on the story.

Sars coming out saying that firstly, this is an internal disciplinary matter between employer and employee, therefore, they wont comment. More importantly, they are saying that this is a matter before the courts.

Vlok Symington is being hauled before a disciplinary hearing. He believes it is as a result of him blowing the lid on this conspiracy.
