Bayside Mall robbery: 7 arrested, 4 guns recovered

Seven suspects have been arrested and four firearms recovered following a weekend robbery at Bayside Mall, Table View police station commander Dirk Vosloo says.

He says the police were alerted of a robbery, which took place at a Telkom store, where robbers escaped with 30 cell phones.

The suspects were arrested after a gun battle with police.

An officer was shot in the arm and treated at the scene by emergency services personnel.

Vosloo thanked everyone who ensured that these suspects were arrested.

Good work to the police. I want to thank our partners, Tableview Neighbourhood Watch, for assisting us with blocking the roads.
