Selective prosecutions "entirely misplaced" - Shaun Abrahams

National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams appeared before the Parliament’s justice committee to report on performances between April and June this year.

According to EWN's Parliamentary reporter Gaye Davis, Abrahams started off by commenting on the state of capture saying that people have been asking why is he quiet on the matter.

He says he noted media reports asking where is Shaun Abrahams... He says his silence doesn't mean no work is being done.

He says I am now eight-legged into this investigation which includes what former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor had to say and allegations by deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas that he was offered a massive bribe for a job as finance minister...

Abrahams says he has a team of prosecutors and some specialised teams assisting the Hawks on state capture investigations.

Davis says Abrahams responded angrily to accusations of "selective prosecutions", saying those allegation are entirely misplaced.

He says he doesn't make prosecutorial decisions.

He says his office should be respected and that he is not a politician... he is not loyal to anyone but himself and God
